Animated Weather Header 1.1.24

A configurable WordPress weather header with animated weather artwork, live weather data, navigation controls, custom menu entries, and flexible branding.

Installation

1. In WordPress go to Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin.
2. Upload the animated-weather-header-1.1.24.zip file.
3. Activate Animated Weather Header.
4. Go to Settings > Animated Weather Header.
5. Place [jw_weather_header] in the page, template, or widget area where the header should appear.

Menu Builder

The Menu Builder controls the top-level navigation.

• Rename any menu item.
• Turn each menu item ON or OFF.
• Choose Direct Link or Dropdown.
• Set the main URL.
• Choose Same page or New page.
• Add, rename, remove, and link submenu items.

Menu 7 and Menu 8

These are extra menu slots for anything you want, such as Local Weather, Live Cameras, Downloads, About, Contact, or another section. They are OFF by default so they will not change an existing header until you enable them.

Branding

You can use Logo only, Text only, Logo + text, or Hide branding. A logo can be selected from the WordPress Media Library or supplied as an image URL. Logo size can be adjusted from 40 to 220 pixels. Brand text is displayed to the right of the logo.

Weather Location

Automatic NWS weather scenes now use configurable latitude and longitude values from the plugin settings. The default coordinates are Jonesboro, Arkansas, but you can enter coordinates for another location.

Weather Animation

Automatic mode uses current NWS conditions to select Sunny, Cloudy, Rain, Storm, Snow, or Night. Manual scene choices are also available. Weather artwork is animated while the main scenery remains stationary.

Live Weather

The header reads the latest weather-station record from the WordPress weather log table used by the site. Imperial and Metric units are supported.

This plugin is designed for WordPress sites that want a compact, highly configurable weather header without relying on the theme's primary navigation.

1.1.24 Fix

Older saved settings with only six Menu Sections now automatically receive Menu 7 and Menu 8. The new section rows appear immediately without resetting existing settings.

Public / Logged-Out Fix in 1.1.24

Version 1.1.24 includes a public-facing logo fallback so the selected logo can fail gracefully to the bundled plugin logo instead of showing a broken-image icon. Public CSS and assets continue to load for logged-out visitors.
